NBA Daily Blog Playoff Edition: Clippers come from 27 down to defeat the Grizzlies in Game 1 99-98. Hawks defeat the Celtics in Game 1 83-74.

The Los Angeles Clippers come back from 27 points down in the third quarter to pull off a stunner over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 1 of their first round series vs the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum 99-98. The Grizzlies were up 84-57 with 2:12 remaining in the 3rd quarter, the Clippers then went on to outscore the Grizzlies 42-14 which was capped off by two clutch free throws by Chris Paul.

Paul finished with a double-double 14 points and 11 assists. Nick Young off the bench led the Clippers in scoring with 19 points. Blake Griffin added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Caron Butler scored 12 before leaving the game with a broken hand. Mo Williams and Eric Bledsoe each scored 9. Reggie Evans pulled down 13 rebounds with 7 points. Kenyon Martin blocked 3 shots.

Rudy Gay led the Grizzlies with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Mike Conley and O.J. Mayo off the bench each scored 17. Conley also added 8 assists. Marc Gasol added 14 points and 6 assists. Marreese Speights added 8 points and 9 rebounds.

In Atlanta, the Atlanta Hawks take the opener in their first round series against the Boston Celtics at Philips Arena 83-74. Josh Smith led the Hawks with a double-double 22 points and 18 rebounds. Jeff Teague added 15 points and 6 assists. Kirk Hinrich added 12 points and 4 rebounds. Joe Johnson added 11 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists. Rajon Rondo led the Celtics with a double-double 20 points and 11 assists with 4 steals. Kevin Garnett also finished with a double-double 20 points and 12 rebounds with 2 steals. Paul Pierce added 12 points and 6 assists. Avery Bradley scored 10.

In San Antonio, the top-seeded team in the West, the San Antonio Spurs take Game 1 of their first round match-up against the Utah Jazz at the AT&T Center 106-91. Tony Parker led the Spurs with 28 points and 8 assists. Tim Duncan finished with a double-double 17 points and 11 rebounds with 5 assists and 2 steals. Stephen Jackson scored 14 off the bench. Boris Diaw and Matt Bonner each scored 9. Paul Millsap led the Jazz with a near double-double 20 points and 9 rebounds with 3 blocks. Gordon Hayward added 17 points and 2 steals. Al Jefferson added 16 points and 9 rebounds. Jamaal Tinsley added 9 points and 5 assists.

In Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Lakers open their playoff campaign with a win over the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center 103-88. Kobe Bryant led the Lakers with 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Ramon Sessions added 14 points and 5 assists. Pau Gasol finished with a near triple-double 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists with 2 blocks. Devin Ebanks added 12 points and 5 rebounds. Andrew Bynum came up with a triple-double 10 points, 13 rebounds and 10 blocks. Jordan Hill off the bench finished with a double-double 10 points and 10 rebounds with 2 blocks. Danilo Gallinari led the Nuggets with 19 points. Andre Miller off the bench added 14 points added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Corey Brewer scored 11. Rookie Kenneth Faried and Al Harrington each scored 10.
